Want stronger shoulders?
Have shoulder pain? Rotator cuff issues?
Today we're exploring the Supraspinatus muscle.

This is a key rotator cuff muscle. Any repetitive overhead movement can irritate the tendon. Let's give it some love and strengthen it!
It's main action is initiating arm abduction about 0 to 15°.

🧠The muscle is strongly related to the frontal cortex of the brain involved in conscious thought processing and decision making. The emotions connected to supraspinatus via the Central Meridian are self-respect, self-confidence, success, truth, and trust. Reminding us to move through life following these virtues.
I've personally seen this muscle react directly to supress trauma and old injury patterns not only in the shoulder or neck but also in the pelvis and lower body.
- "You body speaks your mind!"
Innervation: Suprascapular nerve (C5-C6 brachial plexus roots)
Agonists (team players): Middle/anterior deltoid, lower/middle trapezius, infraspinatus.
Antagonists (opposers): Latissimus dorsi, pectoralis major/minor, rhomboids, serratus anterior.
A strong, balanced supraspinatus means smoother overhead movements, better joint stability, and less compensation from other muscles.
Try these exercises for your shoulder:

- In Behavior Kinesiology, the supraspinatus links to the Central Meridian—the master pathway for overall yin energy, self-connection, and flow.
Stimulating the chi flow in the natural direction with your hand or tapping the meridian end point on the chin helps the energy move!
- Here are some Lymph reflexes for the muscle AND the Brain..
Rub these points 10-30 seconds and feel the brain fog lift along with any shoulder weakness.

The supraspinatus is your foundation for shoulder strength, stability, and that inner confidence. Strengthening it holistically transforms how you move and feel.
If this empowered you, share it and leave a comment: What's one way you'll build shoulder strength this week? I read them all!
Thanks for reading—strengthen those shoulders, own your power, talk soon,
Barry
